The vibrating lap is designed to abrade and polish automatically. The inertia of the heavy rock slab holds it relatively still while the lap pan vibrates underneath. This action replaces the circular rotation used by conventional lapping machines. Covington 's new design and grooved plates gives you faster cutting. Bumper ring prevents edge damage. Pad insert enables work-piece to be polished in the same pan. One tri-knob screw releases pan for easy cleaning. Comes complete with 110v, 50/60hz motor, polish pad, bumper ring, instructions and guarantee.

These Rociprolap machines are a precision built machine designed to eliminate the labor-intensive work of lapping and polishing. This machine operates as its name implies, the lap plate revolves slowly and reciprocates 575 times per minute simultaneously. It is balanced and does not need to be bolted down. Extremely quiet in operation and built to industrial standards, all cast iron and steel construction. The lap plate's surface is machine flat to a very close tolerance, capable of lapping to millionths of an inch in flatness. The lap plate also has 3/16” x ½” pockets to maintain fresh grit and lubrication reservoir. The Rociprolap will lap rock, wood, metal, glass or any material which must be ground flat. It is especially suited to lap compressor valves. Each unit is sold complete with splash guard, bumper ring, 1/3 hp motor, one set of 12 nylon ball bearings, one set of 6 steel discs, and a complete set of instructions.
